Workshops and Events
Are your programs evidence-based?

Our curricula are evidence-informed and grounded in peer-reviewed mental health research. We translate research into practical tools and strategies that participants can use in their everyday lives, workplaces, families, and communities.

Do I need to be a mental health professional to participate?

Not at all. We welcome participants from a wide range of educational backgrounds, professions, and lived experiences.

In addition, while many of our workshops are designed for adults, our Resiliency Ambassadors for Youth (R.A.Y.) program was developed for high school students, and even young children can learn and practice our tools with their caregivers at our Resilient Family Advenutre events.

Are your trainings appropriate across cultures?

Yes. Our approach is designed to be accessible and adaptable across cultures and communities. Many of our materials have been translated or adapted to meet the needs of diverse populations, including Spanish-speaking communities and students participating in programs internationally.

Can your model be used with youth and children?

Yes. Our resiliency tools and approach can be adapted for children and youth and have been used in schools, family programs, and other youth-serving settings. We offer family-focused community events, programs for high school students — including our Resiliency Ambassadors for Youth (R.A.Y.) program — and practical tools and resources for educators and other professionals who work with young people.

Whether you’re looking to support children and families, equip educators and youth-serving professionals, or bring a resilience program to your school or organization, contact us to explore options that are right for your community.

Do you offer scholarships for your community workshops?

Yes. We offer a limited number of scholarships for many of our trainings and workshops, based on available funding.

To learn more or request a scholarship application, please contact us.

Can you provide an introductory presentation for our organization?

Absolutely. We can offer an introductory presentation to help your organization learn more about our approach before committing to a longer training or workshop series. Depending on the location, format, and travel involved, these introductory sessions may be available at little or no cost.

Contact us to discuss what might work best for your organization.

Do you offer follow-up support after a training?

Yes. We believe that continued practice is an important part of making new skills and tools part of everyday life. We offer monthly Resilient Connections practice groups where participants can revisit and strengthen the skills they’ve learned. These groups are free, and anyone who has participated in an RFR training is welcome and encouraged to join us.

Participants are also invited to explore our Program Catalog for ways to continue learning and practicing with us. For organizations, our workshop packages and extended training series offer additional opportunities to deepen and expand this work.

Events and Registration
How often do you offer trainings and workshops?

We offer community events and workshops throughout the year, both in person and virtually. Visit our Event Calendar to see current offerings, including free community events and CEU-eligible programs.

We also offer private trainings, workshops, and multi-session series for organizations, workplaces, schools, and community groups.

Contact us to discuss bringing a program to your organization or community.

What if I can't attend a training I registered for?

We offer full registration refunds for cancellations received at least 30 days before the training date. If you need to cancel with less than 30 days’ notice, we’re happy to apply your registration fee toward a future training within one year of your original training date.

Please contact us if you need to cancel or transfer your registration for any reason.

Can my organization host a private training or workshop series?

Yes! We work with organizations, workplaces, schools, and community groups to provide private trainings, workshops, and multi-session series tailored to their needs.

Contact us or complete our Workshop Request Form so we can learn more about your group and develop a training proposal that aligns with your goals.

Continuing Education (CEUs)
Do you offer continuing education credits?

Yes. Select community trainings and workshops offer continuing education credits through our partnership with Area L AHEC. CEU availability varies by program, so be sure to check the event details when registering.

CEUs are available for a small additional fee, paid directly to Area L AHEC. More information about CEU eligibility, fees, and requirements is provided during the registration process.

Will RFR's CEUs count toward my professional license?

It depends on your professional licensing board. Some boards accept AHEC credits, while others may accept a certificate of completion or require additional documentation, such as a retroactive approval form after the program.

Because requirements vary by profession and licensing board, participants should confirm directly with their licensing board that the program and type of CE documentation will meet their specific requirements. RFR cannot guarantee that a program will satisfy a particular licensing board’s requirements.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

RFR provides a Certificate of Completion for most trainings and workshops. The certificate documents your participation and completion of the program.

The Certificate of Completion is separate from any continuing education credits that may be available. If you need continuing education for professional licensure or credentialing, please check the individual event listing to see whether CEUs are offered and confirm with your licensing board that the documentation provided meets its requirements.

How much do CEUs cost?

CEU fees are separate from any RFR program registration fee. If you choose to receive CEUs for a program that offers them, the CEU fee is paid directly to Area L AHEC.

Current CEU fees may include:

  • 1-hour programs: $10 CEU fee
  • 1–2-day programs: $50 CEU fee

RFR may also charge a separate registration fee for the program. Please check the individual event listing for the most current information about both the program registration fee and CEU fee.

How many CEUs are offered at eligible events?

The number of continuing education units or contact hours varies by program. The number of CEUs or contact hours available will be listed in the registration details for each program.

Please review the individual event listing before registering to confirm the number of contact hours offered.

How do I register and pay for CEUs?

If an RFR program offers CEUs, you will need to register for the RFR program and complete a separate registration with Area L AHEC to receive continuing education credit.

The CEU fee is paid directly to Area L AHEC and is separate from any RFR program registration fee. Registration instructions and additional information will be provided as part of the event registration process.

How do I find out which events offer CEUs?

CEU eligibility is noted in each individual event listing. You can also visit our Event Calendar to explore upcoming programs offering continuing education opportunities.

The number of contact hours, CEU fees, and registration requirements vary by program. Please refer to the individual event listing for the most current information.
